Mechanical Engineer – Auxiliary Systems | BAE Systems Australia
BAE Systems Australia is seeking a Mechanical Engineer – Auxiliary Systems to join the Hunter Class Frigate Program. The role can be based in Adelaide, Victoria, NSW, Queensland or Perth, with occasional travel to Osborne if necessary.
Responsibilities
* Develop mechanical auxiliary system equipment to meet established requirements and participate in design reviews.
* Produce optimised auxiliary system and equipment detail designs and present them in design reviews.
* Translate design into manufacturable solutions, incorporating required changes.
* Integrate and validate the auxiliary system design, contributing to integration and validation plans and reports.
* Support qualification activities to ensure all safety and regulatory requirements are met.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Aerospace Engineering (maritime experience may be considered suitable).
* Experience in a maritime/marine defence environment highly advantageous.
* Strong background in the design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of auxiliary piping.
* Excellent communication for stakeholder engagement and documentation.
* Current NV1 Clearance or eligibility to obtain.
* Eligibility for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) clearance.
Clearances
Defence security clearance is required. Applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance. ITAR regulations apply and nationality may affect suitability.
Location
Adelaide, Victoria, NSW, Queensland or Perth, with occasional travel to Osborne.
