Wilko Painting is seeking experienced Qualified Painters to join our team.
Reporting to the General Manager, every day is different, as our clients and projects range from high rise apartments, storage facilities, shopping centres, heritage listed buildings, schools, industrial complexes, government buildings, residential houses and more.
You must be able to drive yourself in your own vehicle to job locations across Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
Painter Duties:
* Carry out a range of external and internal painting decorating tasks in occupied and empty properties whilst achieving a durable and quality finish.
* Complete preparation and cleaning of surfaces using hand-held power tools and other appropriate methods. This includes scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydro-blasting and steam-cleaning. Repair cracks and holes in walls and joinery by applying fillers/sealant. Prepare/sand surface for application of decorative product.
* Mix and thin paint to obtain desired colour and texture.
* Apply paint or other materials, such as stains, lacquer, enamel, oil, varnish, fibreglass, metal coating or fire retardant using brushes, rollers or spray equipment, following manufacturers recommendations.
* Erect scaffold and ladders, and protect belongings with drop sheets.
* Ability to hang wallpaper, match patterns and trimming edges would be beneficial but not essential.
* Liaise and work with all other trades providing technical advice as and when required.
* Ensure all work is carried out in a safe, proper and thorough manner taking into account Health and Safety Legislation.
* Work safely at heights, internally and externally using appropriate access equipment such as a tower scaffold.
Requirements:
* At least 3 years of industry experience.
*Relevant Trade Qualification: Cert III in Painting and Decorating or Diploma in Building Construction.
*Valid Construction Induction Safety certificate (White Card).
*Confidence in working at heights.
*Ability to work unsupervised.
We are offering a competitive salary of $70,000 - $80,000 per year plus Superannuation, depending on experience.
