An opportunity exists for an energetic individual to join the IT team of OCBC Australia.
Reporting to Head -Tech & Ops, your primary responsibility is to assist with the management and support of the Branch’s IT infrastructure, ensuring the effective operation of all IT systems and services.
This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining hardware and software, and providing support to staff and users. The IT Officer will also assist in the implementation of IT projects, including supporting the development and maintenance of software applications to meet user requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Technical Support:
* Provide first-line support for IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.
* Respond to user inquiries and troubleshoot technical issues in a timely manner.
* Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of workstations, servers, and peripheral devices.
System Administration:
* Monitor and maintain the Branch’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and databases.
* Ensure the security and integrity of data through regular backups and updates.
* Implement and manage security protocols to protect sensitive information.
Software Management:
* Install, configure, and update software applications as needed.
* Ensuring anti-virus definitions and security patches are timely updated.
Network Management:
* Assist in the management of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
* Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate documentation of IT processes, procedures, and configurations.
* Prepare reports on IT performance, incidents, and resolutions for management review.
* Performing technology risks assessments.
Project Assistance:
* Support IT projects and initiatives, including system upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
* Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and deadlines.
Application Support:
* Develop, maintain, test, and deploy software applications based on user requirements.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for new applications or enhancements to existing systems.
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
* Proven experience in IT support or a similar role
* Strong knowledge or computer hardware, software, and networking principles
* Familiarity with operating systems (Windows 11, Windows Server) and common software applications (Symantec/Veritas Backup Exec, Microsoft Office).
* Familiarity with programming languages such as MS VB.Net and Structured query language (SQL)
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
You will also need to hold an Australia Permanent Resident Visa to apply for this job.
Market based remuneration will be negotiated with the successful candidate based on qualifications, expertise and experience.
