About the Business:
Howling Husky Park is a sled dog tour company based in the alpine region, providing outdoor experiences supported by a team of trained working dogs. The business is responsible for the care, conditioning, and training of high-energy dogs used in structured team-based activities. Many of our dogs are rescue or rehomed animals, requiring ongoing behavioural support and structured training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train and handle dogs in obedience, behavior management, and socialization
- Develop and implement structured training programs for dogs in care
- Assist with conditioning and exercise routines for working dogs
- Assess and manage canine behaviour, including dogs with behavioural challenges
- Maintain accurate records of training progress and animal welfare
- Ensure safe handling and high standards of animal care at all times
- Assist with general care and daily management of dogs
Requirements:
- At least 2 years’ experience as a dog trainer or animal trainer
- Strong understanding of canine behavior and training techniques
- Ability to handle and work with a range of dog breeds and temperaments
- Physically capable of handling medium to large dogs
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Relevant qualification in animal training or behavior (desirable)
Desirable:
- Experience working with working dogs (e.g. sled dogs, herding, or similar)
- Experience working with rescue or rehomed animals
- Experience working in outdoor environments or physically active roles
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $70,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
