We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Specialist Environment to join our Environmental team at our Tropicana Gold Mine. Accountable to the Superintendent: Environment Operations, this is offered on a 4 days on, 3 days off roster. Where we offer a direct flight from Perth and a quick commute to camp.
Role Purpose
To coordinate the environmental activities on site relevant to compliance with regulatory requirements and the maintenance of environmental management systems and processes for continual improvement in environmental performance.
Accountabilities
* Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
* Providing expert environmental advice to site leadership.
* Developing and implementing environmental improvement strategies.
* Develop budget and forecast plans to achieve key business objectives.
* Managing environmental projects.
* Participating in environmental audits and assessments.
* Building relationships with key stakeholders.
* Providing leadership and mentorship in environmental management.
About You
* A strong commitment to safety.
* Quality communication skills at relevant levels of the business.
* A broad understanding of mining disciplines including exploration, mining, processing, and maintenance activities.
* The skills to be outcomes focused and flexible; to know what we must do to maintain compliance and find new, innovative ways to do that.
* A tertiary qualification in environmental science, or equivalent industry experience, with demonstrated site based operational experience at a senior level.
* Knowledge of environmental regulatory requirements, hazard, and risk management.
* Demonstrated experience in a site‑based role, at a senior level.
* A high level of attention to detail and the ability to interpret and manage environmental data to inform decision making.
* Obtaining of a national police clearance.
