The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Team Lead Power Operations Engineering - East to join our Engineering and Planning team based in Brisbane, QLD or Mt Isa on a Permanent Full-Time basis.

Reporting to the Head of Power Engineering, you will be responsible for leading the Power Engineering (East – Diamantina Power Facility) team, delivering customer-focused service with a value-driven approach that promotes operational excellence across APA's power assets.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the team with effective communication, change leadership, and a focus on high performance and accountability.
* Coach and develop team members, setting clear goals and supporting their growth through development plans and ongoing feedback.
* Translate APA Power & Electricity Transmission's strategic vision into day-to-day operations and decision-making.
* Guide the team in lifecycle asset management, performance reporting, and the development of best-practice maintenance strategies based on vendor guidance, industry standards, and RCM principles.
* Oversee the delivery of specialist engineering support, including investigations, troubleshooting, risk assessments, and input into asset design, modification, commissioning, and operational handover.
* Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support team effectiveness and drive value-added outcomes for APA and its customers.

Your Background
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering, with eligibility for corporate membership of Engineers Australia, or equivalent experience; Chartered Engineer or RPEQ registration (mandatory for QLD assets).
* Extensive experience in the Energy and Power industry, particularly in the operation and maintenance of power stations or similar assets.
* Strong leadership capability, with a proven ability to build and guide high-performing teams and prioritise work based on risk and business needs.
* Sound knowledge of Australian and international engineering codes, statutory requirements, and environmental and health & safety legislation.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver engineering services and asset performance improvements to optimise business outcomes.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience in scope development, vendor engagement, and risk management.
