THE ROLE Reporting to the Manager Disability Policy – Services and Safeguarding, the Principal Policy Officer will lead and contribute to the development of disability policy including continuing Victorian service delivery and safeguarding arrangements, along with elements relating to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). As a Principal Policy Officer in the Disability Policy team, you will use your highly developed policy and stakeholder engagement skills and experience in driving the design and delivery of policy, strategy, legislation and programs for people with disability across the state. This role will suit a proactive self-starter who can work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders across government, including various government department oversight bodies and funded agencies, to support and inform the delivery of strategies that are innovative, evidence-informed, and reflective of best practice. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE * Provide high quality authoritative advice and sound policy recommendations relating continuing Victorian service delivery and safeguarding arrangements, along with elements relating to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to senior management and government based on comprehensive research. * Forge strong connections across Victorian Government and with Commonwealth, States and external stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach. * Oversee the development of policy and initiatives that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
