We're looking for dynamic Technical Specialists to join our Payroll Services team at the Department of Treasury and Finance. Remuneration: ASO4 – Salary Range ($76,561 – 80,256 p.a.).
About the opportunity:
The Technical Specialist contributes to the delivery of professional, accurate and timely payroll services to client agencies and employees of the South Australian Government.As a Technical Specialist you will:
- Provide high level assistance to management through the provision of calculations and customer service.
- Mentor junior staff in complex processing and procedures.
- Maintain expertise in complex payroll and HR systems, processes and legislative requirements.
- Assist the organisation to meet its taxation, superannuation and other legislative and statutory organisational obligations.
- Support change management initiatives including modernisation projects and legislative updates.
About you:
To be successful, you will thrive in a systems and process driven environment, with:
- Proven experience in payroll processes, and the use of a computerised payroll system (e.g. CHRIS), or other relevant database, including reporting capabilities.
- Proven ability to work effectively either as an individual or a member of a team, relate to staff on all levels, and build strong working and networking relationships.
- Good customer service ethos and ability to communicate both orally and in writing and present ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Experience interpreting and applying relevant legislation, policies and procedures associated with the provision of payroll or HR-related services.
- Ability to think analytically, identify root cause, propose solutions and follow through until resolution.
