The Vessel Engineer is to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of vessel equipment and machinery including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, refrigeration, ventilation, sullage, air conditioning, safety, and emergency systems. To assist the vessel Master in the delivery of safe and efficient passenger services. And the candidate will be responsible for navigation, crew leadership, safety drills, and management systems as well as reporting requirements. Clear communication, physical fitness, and the ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines are paramount in this role.Working in close conjunction with all crew, duties will include:The Re-fuelling of the vessel in a safe mannerAssist Master in conducting safety drillsDaily checks and maintenanceComplete daily Engineering log and report defectsAssist with the safe, efficient, and timely boarding and disembarkation of all passengers.Assist with cleaning duties at the end of shiftAbout YouAble to perform under pressureExcellent interpersonal skills, able to relate to passengers from a variety of backgrounds, and provide assistanceGood troubleshooting skillsStrong work ethics and 'Can Do' AttitudeAble to work flexible hoursBe well presented at all timesThese attributes will be complimented by experience and skills in the following areas:Marine Engine Driver grade I (one) NCSolid mechanical background with Caterpillar engine experienceKnowledge of safety and maritime obligationsSenior First Aid and Resuscitation QualificationDrivers LicenceResponsible Service of Alcohol certificateProven track record of excellent customer serviceStrong verbal communication skillsExperience in the tourism industryHow To RegisterClick Interestedand fill in as much information as you can in the track record section of the registration.
