Our Client
Our client is a leading pork producer with operations across Australia and New Zealand. In Australia, there are several pig production facilities in Queensland, and the company aims to appoint an overall farming operations manager. The company is committed to delivering high‑quality pork while upholding strong standards in animal welfare, biosecurity, worker safety, and environmental compliance.
The Role
This role will focus on critical operational management across multiple farm locations across the Goondiwindi, Darling Downs, and Western Downs regions, while driving improvements in systems. The position requires strong leadership and must ensure production and financial targets are met while maintaining compliance with strict environmental and effluent management regulations. The Operations Manager will support and coach the individual Farm Managers and provide hands‑on leadership to develop capabilities across the teams.
Requirements
* Recent piggery management within the last 5 to 10 years
* Senior operational management experience within large‑scale agribusiness
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate teams
* Knowledge of intensive animal production, herd health, nutrition, and biosecurity
* The ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including farm managers, contractors, suppliers, and industry bodies
Remuneration and Location
A highly attractive remuneration package, including salary, superannuation, and a car, will be negotiated to attract the right person for this role. The position is ideally based in Goondiwindi, but Toowoomba is also an option. The role will involve regular travel to the farms. The company is willing to offer visa sponsorship if needed, and international candidates are encouraged to apply.
