The Legal Division is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will be involved in interesting and important work that spans various areas including environment protection, energy, climate change, heritage, and on-ground operations in Commonwealth national parks and Antarctica.
As a member of the Legal Division, your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality legal services, including legal research, analysis, and problem-solving advice. You will work closely with the leadership team to drive the vision and direction of the Division.

* Use your technical legal expertise to provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice that meets the needs of the client.
* Work on complex and sensitive matters with a significant degree of autonomy.
* Supervise and mentor junior lawyers where appropriate.
* Help identify where external advice is required and prepare documentation seeking quotes and engaging external legal providers.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent technical legal skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also be required to have sound knowledge of legislative, financial, and administrative frameworks, government decision-making processes, and agency guidelines and regulations.
