Position Overview
An excellent opportunity exists for a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a part-time, fixed-term basis. This role is integral to the successful design, coordination, and implementation of mechanical building services across a range of construction projects.
The successful candidate will contribute technical expertise to ensure that all mechanical systems are designed and executed in accordance with project specifications, Australian Standards, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, assess and oversee the installation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, ventilation, and associated building services.
* Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
* Conduct site inspections to monitor installation quality, performance, and compliance with safety standards.
* Perform engineering calculations, including load analysis, system sizing, and energy efficiency assessments.
* Coordinate with architects, contractors, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical services.
* Provide technical support during project planning, procurement, and construction phases.
* Ensure compliance with relevant Australian codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
Selection Criteria
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience within the construction or building services sector.
* Proficiency in relevant engineering and CAD software.
* Sound understanding of Australian Standards and building regulations.
* Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
