About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Industry Communications Advisor to join our high-performing Media & Communications team on a contract through to 31 March 2026. This role is responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating internal and industry focused communication strategies that promote collaboration, transparency and engagement with Victorian racing participants and stakeholders.
This is a unique opportunity to work across key areas of the business such as integrity, equine welfare, participant wellbeing and club engagement, while helping to shape the voice of RV within the industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver participant and stakeholder communications that support key business priorities
* Create content including updates, media releases, newsletters, web content and briefing materials
* Support internal communications across departments and assist with cross-functional messaging
* Build strong relationships with participants, clubs and internal teams to ensure consistent engagement
* Monitor industry sentiment and media coverage, contributing insights to improve communication strategies
* Assist the broader Communications Team during peak racing periods
About You
You’ll need a strong understanding of thoroughbred racing and stakeholder environment from day one, this role is for someone who knows the industry and can hit the ground running. You’re comfortable working across multiple stakeholder groups and are confident translating complex ideas into clear and meaningful messages.
What You’ll Bring
* Background in communications, journalism, public relations or media
* Proven communications experience, ideally within the racing or sporting industry
* Experience with Sitecore or similar CMS platforms; comfortable managing backend updates
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
* Strong knowledge of thoroughbred racing required, with knowledge of the Victorian industry desired
* Comfortable working across multiple projects and priorities
* Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain) and current driver’s licence
