The project involves converting mine pits into reservoirs and constructing underground infrastructure such as powerhouse caverns and waterway shafts and tunnels for water transfer to generate power during peak periods and return water during off-peak periods.
About the Role
Working on a 14 days on/7 days off roster, we are seeking an experienced Project Quality Manager to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring mechanical works meet the highest quality standards, comply with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and our Integrated Management System.
This role requires leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience with ISO 9001 and quality systems in construction environments is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead quality assurance and control throughout the project lifecycle.
* Develop, implement, and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality procedures, and documentation.
* Conduct audits, inspections, and surveillance activities to ensure compliance with design and contractual requirements.
* Collaborate with construction, engineering, and subcontractor teams to resolve quality issues and promote continuous improvement.
* Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and quality records.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site teams.
* Support commissioning and handover processes focusing on mechanical quality deliverables.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
* 5–10 years' experience in mechanical engineering roles, with a focus on quality in large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
* Experience with ISO 9001 and quality systems in construction environments.
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience with hydro, energy, or complex mechanical systems is highly desirable.
