Required qualifications & experience
- Must be an electrical engineer with experience designing industrial motor control systems.
- Must have experience Project Managing a diverse range of projects ranging from small projects through to large construction projects.
- Ability to produce wiring diagrams, schematics and cabinet layouts and commissioning motor control systems is essential.
- Experience using VFD’s and PLC’s is essential.
- Experience managing projects up to 1.5 million and teams up to 10 is preferable.
Desirable experience
- Ability to produce mechanical engineering drawings using either Autocad and/or SolidWorks.
- An understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Experience building control systems.
- A-Grade Electrical License.
- Experience within the Theatre industry and/or crane industry designing motor control systems specifically for hoisting applications.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Procuring all materials required for the design and building of motor control systems.
- Managing the scheduling and operations of a small team of electricians.
- Working within a team to design & provide wiring diagrams and schematics for control systems that may include Variable Speed drives, physical limits, HMI's, auxiliary inputs etc. for manufacture & installation
- Designing and supporting electricians to build & install motor control systems including main cabinet design, additional control inputs etc.
- Installing and commissioning control systems in schools, construction sites & other commercial spaces with support onsite from our installation teams. Note that many installations occur interstate, therefore there is a requirement to travel.
- Interpreting consultant specifications and drawings and designing systems to suit client & consultant vision.
- Continually looking for ways to improve the safety, reliability, user friendliness & cost effectiveness of motor control systems.
- Experience in programming PLC & HMI’s is required.
- In addition to the core electrical engineering role, you will also be tasked with designing and managing ITE's core projects including curtains and tracking systems, misc. engineering solutions and a range of other projects related to the Theatre Engineering field.
