Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a UI/UX Designer on a contract for 9 months with potential extension.
**Role Description**
We are looking for a UI/UX Designer who will work in a dynamic and fast paced environment to help design and shape the products being introduced and updated by the Support at Home program.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Designing and delivering human-centred design and design thinking activities working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Translate customer insights into concepts, personas, user journeys, storyboards, system maps, user flows, wireframes, visual design comps, clickable-prototypes, and other forms of prototypes.
- Producing low to high-fidelity wireframes and prototypes to communicate concepts with clients and delivery teams.
- Experience presenting and defending design decisions with senior leaders.
- Conduct discovery processes; user interviews, stakeholder mapping, observational studies, journey mapping, empathy interviews / maps, persona creation, contextual inquiries, speculative futures, process mapping, literature review, market analysis, novel product review.
- Facilitate showcases and discussions to effectively communicate discovery findings, concepts, details and design rationale, verbally and visually.
- Facilitate and lead sessions to progress the UI/UX of the product.
- Ensure digital product guidelines comply with the guidelines of WCAG and the accessibility requirements of end users.
- Conduct digital design specification to communicate the program to software developers, ensuring designs are modified where necessary to meet software development or cost requirements
- Provide the project team with clear insights into user behaviour, expectations and perceptions of existing and new product.
**Key Capabilities**
- Tertiary qualification in Interaction Design, User Experience Design, or similar discipline with a focus on human-computer interaction
- Strong knowledge of the design process and design thinking
- Experience designing digital products, from web/desktop to mobile
- Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills to build relationships
- Aptitude for problem-solving, technical activities
- A strong portfolio of interaction and visual design work
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written with an ability to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders of all levels
- Designing Desktop, Web and Mobile apps, wireframes, and prototypes using tools like Adobe XD, Adobe InDesign CC, Axure RP Professional, Figma, etc
- Demonstrated capability in designing end to end UX, from discovery to polished designs
- Ability to work independently in a small team with broad responsibilities
- Well versed with MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio and other such tools
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and achieve results to meet objectives within tight timeframes
