The Australian Refrigeration Council Ltd (ARC) is the peak body for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry in Australia, servicing over 100,000 individuals and businesses. ARC provides leadership and value to the sector through licensing and regulatory assistance, technical advice, and initiatives that prepare technicians for future technologies.

As the administrator of refrigerant handling licences and trading authorisations on behalf of the Australian Government, ARC plays a critical role in environmental protection and industry compliance. With a strong focus on governance, advocacy, and sustainability, ARC is committed to supporting professionals and promoting best practice across the industry.


Your new role

As a key member of the leadership team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be the driving force behind ARC's financial governance and operational efficiency. Reporting to the CEO, this hands-on role will focus on execution and delivery, enabling the CEO to lead strategic initiatives while ensuring ARC's financial health and compliance.
The CFO will be responsible for:
* Overseeing all financial operations, including reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Maintaining strong internal controls and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
* Driving process improvements and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency.
* Managing contractors and external service providers to deliver value and performance.
* Monitoring and mitigating financial and operational risks.
* Supporting organisational projects that enhance sustainability and growth.
What you'll need to succeed
o CPA or CA qualification essential.
o Proven experience in senior finance roles with responsibility for compliance and reporting.
o Strong understanding of risk management and financial governance.
o Capacity to implement technological solutions for efficiency.
o Experience managing contractors and external service providers.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, practical, and solutions-driven, with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently.
You will be approachable, collaborative, and able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
