The Opportunity The company is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer who can run projects from concept through to certification with minimal supervision. The role offers strong autonomy, technical complexity, and the ability to directly influence project outcomes while mentoring junior team members. Candidates may be based in Melbourne or Townsville, with hybrid working arrangements available. Key Responsibilities Lead structural engineering projects end-to-end, ensuring technical accuracy and timely delivery Design in concrete, steel, timber and masonry in accordance with relevant Australian Standards Manage relationships with clients, architects and builders Conduct site inspections, review design documentation and coordinate with drafting teams Apply strong engineering judgement to resolve complex structural challenges Mentor and support junior engineers Maintain high standards of quality, documentation and compliance Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering 5 years Australian structural design/consulting experience Strong knowledge of AS1170, AS3600, AS4100, AS1720, AS2870 Proficiency in structural software (e.g., SpaceGass, Structural Toolkit, SLB, CheckWind or similar) Strong communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills Desirable RPEQ or working towards it Experience mentoring or leading junior engineers Exposure to temporary works, industrial projects, or modular structures Why Join This Consultancy?
