Job Description
This position is accountable for assisting with the coordination, supervision and leadership of the Community Safety team to enhance the safety and amenity of the community through education, prevention and enforcement of legislation and Local laws.
The key responsibilities of this role include mentoring and supervising direct reports, providing technical advice, training, guidance, motivation and support.
Fostering an engaged, innovative, customer-focused and high-performing team that reflects Council's values is also a key responsibility.
Ensuring the safety of residents by administering and complying with relevant Acts and Council's Local Law is another critical aspect of this role.
Additionally, this position will assist with the development and delivery of community safety services and programs that reflect community needs and comply with relevant legislative and regulatory provisions.
As the Pound Manager, you will be responsible for managing the provision of council's animal shelter services, ensuring compliance with the Code of Practice for the Management of Dogs and Cats in Shelters and Pounds.
Other key responsibilities include contributing to the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of systems, processes and strategies that create greater efficiencies and promote best practice.
Developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders relating to Community Safety is also crucial in this role.
Overseeing Council's After Hours on-call community safety service and participating in the service as required is another important responsibility.
Finally, this position will assist with the management of Council's School Crossing Supervisor operations and contribute to the fulfillment of Council's emergency management responsibilities.
