**About the role**:
The Curriculum Development Directorate within the Curriculum and Learning Division develops and publishes curriculum and resources for preschools and schools. It works closely with sites to test and evaluate resources, identity curriculum needs and support educators to design learning.
The Assistant Director, Online Curriculum and Learning provides leadership in a range of strategic digital education initiatives. This role encompasses the design and development of the South Australian (SA) Curriculum for public education in online and AI environments, focusing on creating innovative digital learning platforms and resources.
The position is responsible for embedding learning design across digital formats, strategically developing curriculum resources that leverage national and international research, ensuring alignment with departmental strategies and policies and incorporating Aboriginal knowledge and perspectives into online learning materials.
The role is critical in transforming educational content delivery, ensuring that online learning environments are not only technologically sophisticated but also culturally responsive and strategically aligned with broader departmental objectives such as "Our Strategy" and the Aboriginal Education Strategy.
**Essential qualifications and competencies**:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification including post-graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline desirable or relevant experience.
- Experience leading in a large and complex organisation at an executive level, ensuring the translation of priorities into executed deliverables.

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
