About the role
Ambarella Fine Foods is seeking an experienced Butcher Department Manager to join our team in Burleigh Heads, QLD. This is a full‐time position within our thriving specialty food store, where you will oversee the day‐to‐day operations of our butchery department and ensure exceptional service and product quality for our customers.
What you'll be doing
* Managing the butchery team, including scheduling, training and performance management
* Overseeing the ordering, receiving, storage and display of all meat products
* Ensuring strict compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
* Developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction
* Providing exceptional customer service and sharing your expert product knowledge
* Collaborating with the wider store management team to support the business objectives
What we're looking for
* Minimum 3 years' experience as a Butcher or Butchery Manager
* Strong butchery and meat cutting skills, with a comprehensive knowledge of various meat products and preparation techniques
* Excellent customer service orientation and the ability to build trusted relationships
* Solid leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
* Strong organisational and problem‐solving abilities, with an eye for detail
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Food safety and hygiene certification
* Australian citizenship is required for this position
