Based in Laverton North, we are looking for Production Operators to join our team at our 2,4 D Manufacturing site. You will have the opportunity to work within a fast paced agricultural chemical plant producing key products to meet production requirements.
We operate on a rotating roster 4 days on 4 days off with 12 hour shifts.

Responsibilities:
1. Operating plants efficiently, to schedule and to cycle times
2. Effectively following supervisor instructions with relation to plant organisation, process control, quality non-conformances and improvements
3. Opportunity to work with unique operating equipment and processes
4. Strong troubleshooting skills and issues response
5. Experience with disciplined handover and issues reporting systems
6. Desire to drive improvements in operating processes and systems
7. Opportunities for development and leadership within the operations team
8. Reporting any plant or equipment faults readily to the Maintenance team using CMMS work request system
9. Driving systems such as 5S and general plant cleanliness and coordination
10. Managing safe shutdown and start-up of all equipment in the Plascon, Herbicide, Brine, Chlorination, Distillation and any other plants associated with the process
11. Diligent adherence to required operating procedures, and ensuring process instructions are followed to ensure safety and consistency
12. Experience with generation and use of permit to work systems, JSEAs and LOTO systems
13. Ensuring all safety regulations are followed and that necessary PPE is worn at all times
14. Immediately reporting any safety incidents or hazards
15. Proposing modifications and improvements concerning productivity, safety and quality
16. Understanding of Management of Change systems
Qualifications:
* Previous experience operating in a high hazard manufacturing environment (Chemical, Pharma, Oil/Gas etc)
* Working knowledge of process control
* Ability to monitor process capability, use structured problem solving tools and apply quality standards
* Forklift Licence is essential
This role requires you to have exposure to lean manufacturing principles and be comfortable reading engineering drawings and technical documentation. Excellent communication skills with ability to interact positively with stakeholders and a safety oriented approach to operating machinery is pivotal to success in the role.
