About The Opportunity
We are seeking two enthusiastic Urban Planners to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will play a key role in the delivery of land use, housing, and infrastructure strategies across Blacktown.

What You Will Be Doing
* Assist in the preparation of local planning strategies, LEPs, DCPs and planning proposals
* Conduct research and data analysis to inform planning projects
* Support stakeholder consultation and community engagement activities
* Provide planning advice to internal stakeholders and assist with planning certificate updates
Essential
Qualifications and experience
* Degree qualifications in planning or a relevant or related field
* A minimum of 12 months experience in urban planning or a related field
* Ability to prepare written documents and professional reports in plain English to a diverse audience
* Ability to manage projects relating to the urban environment
* Understanding of the New South Wales Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993 and other relevant legislation, regulations, state planning policies and instruments
* Demonstrated oral communication, information technology, data analysis, research, analytical and other problem‑solving skills
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
* Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and deliver outcomes on time and to a high standard
* Conduct that demonstrates to Council's commitment to teamwork, customer focus, innovation, creativity, quality service and safety
* Current class C driver's licence
Desirable
* Experience in master planning, or the development of planning strategies
* Experience working as a planner in Local Government, State Government and/or the Private Sector
Remuneration And Benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.
* Entry level for this position starts at $1,790.59 per week
* 35‑hour working week
