About the Company
Work for our Local Council based in the Southern Highlands. You will manage a team of 3; including 2 Finance Business Partners & 1 Senior Management Accountant. Your team is responsible for the preparation and reviewal of Council's statutory reporting requirements.
About the Position
A permanent opportunity. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will have 3 direct reports. Your role is to lead your team to create a Finance Business Partnering model that emphasises strong relationships with leaders across Council & a strong process in managing Branch and Section budgets for forecasting and future planning.
Duties
* Manage and lead the accounting preparation: regular reviewal of Council's budget, Long Term Financial Plan and Fees & Charges
* Provide high-level financial advice, analysis and financial reporting
* Be responsible for the management of all financial transactions, ensuring risk mitigation and statutory regulatory obligations
* Coordinate the Management Accounting team employee life cycle
* Continuously review and improve Council's financial processes
Skills & Experience
* Previous Local Council experience highly regarded
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or relevant
* Post-tertiary professional qualification (CPA, CA or equivalent)
* Minimum five years' experience in similar role
* Demonstrated experience leading a team of financial professionals
