Overview
Senior Lecturer and Lecturer roles – Social Work at Edith Cowan University. The School of Arts and Humanities invites applications for two Social Work academics to join our expanding program, at Joondalup Campus. The role level will reflect experience and achievements; both teaching-focused and teaching and research pathways are available.
Responsibilities
* Teaching units in Social Work, including in the Master of Social Work and social work components of other degrees.
* Supporting field education, working with our team to deliver this essential element of social work education.
* For teaching-focused appointments: concentrate primarily on teaching and field education, develop innovations in pedagogy, and lead in preparing and inspiring the next generation of social work professionals.
* For teaching and research appointments: build and develop a strong research program, collaborate with internal research units, access internal funding, and contribute to broader scholarly activity.
* Course coordination responsibilities and engagement with external partners to broaden the impact of teaching and research.
Selection criteria / Qualifications
* Eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
* For teaching and research roles: hold a PhD (or be close to completion within 1 year). For teaching-focused roles: a Masters degree and professional experience equivalent to a PhD.
* Demonstrated ability to teach effectively with a student-centred approach; engage with industry and community; deliver innovations to improve the student experience; work productively and collegially to achieve school and university goals.
* For teaching and research roles: ability to conduct high-quality research with public impact and supervise students.
* Desirable experience in field education; online learning; and international education; alignment with ECU values (Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence, Courage).
Benefits
* Salary ranges: Level B $117,905–$139,307 pa; Level C $143,582–$164,982 pa, plus 17% superannuation.
* Ongoing, full-time appointment at Joondalup Campus.
