ATCO Structures & Logistics is a global leader in modular design, manufacturing and construction. For more than 75 years, we've delivered high‐quality modular solutions across education, government, energy, commercial and industrial sectors.
We are seeking a commercially driven State Manager to lead and grow our Permanent Modular Construction division in Queensland. This is a high‐impact leadership role — not a caretaker position. You'll own full P&L responsibility, lead an established team, and drive growth through a strong outbound sales focus — pursuing new opportunities while nurturing a secured pipeline across private education, energy, sport & recreation and government sectors.
Modular construction is no longer "the future" — it's here, and the opportunity in Queensland is significant. With major government panel positions, strong demand drivers and Olympic‐related infrastructure investment, our division is strategically positioned for sustained long‐term growth.
Your Future with ATCO
In this role, you will take full accountability for the Queensland branch's financial performance, sales growth and operational delivery. You will lead from the front — driving outbound activity, strengthening key government panel relationships and converting a substantial pipeline into revenue.
You'll be backed by a highly experienced operational and contracts team, while also mentoring and elevating internal capability across the branch. This role offers genuine autonomy, meaningful influence and the support of a stable, long‐established global organisation committed to your success.
What You'll Be Doing
* Driving outbound sales activity and expanding market share across private education, government, corrections and sport & recreation sectors
* Holding full P&L accountability including revenue, forecasting and reporting
* Leading commercial risk assessments and bid strategy decisions for complex projects
* Managing end‐to‐end quote conversion and commercial negotiations
* Overseeing contract delivery, installation sequencing and operational execution
* Maximising opportunities within established government panel arrangements
* Managing and developing direct reports, building a high‐performance, winning culture
* Ensuring compliance with safety, quality and legislative requirements
* Maintaining accurate pipeline, forecasting and performance reporting through CRM systems
What You'll Bring
* Proven outbound sales capability with experience managing longer, solution‐based sales cycles
* Demonstrated P&L ownership with strong commercial acumen and sound financial judgement
* Experience leading a branch, business unit or commercial division with full accountability
* Strong understanding of commercial construction environments, including working knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC/BCA)
* Trade background (Electrician, Plumber or Carpenter) or prior experience as a Site Foreman/Supervisor, bringing strong technical credibility
* Experience working with Tier 1 builders or managing major key accounts in complex project environments
* Exposure to modular or in‐situ commercial construction and the ability to navigate more technical build scopes
* Confidence operating at the premium end of the market, positioning and selling high‐value solutions
* A leadership style that leads from the front, builds long‐term partnerships and mentors high‐performing teams
* Strong ownership mentality — comfortable under growth pressure and accountable for results
Why Join ATCO?
* Established global brand with over 75 years of stability
* Strong pipeline of secured projects ready to convert
* Experienced senior leaders and operational support
* Genuine autonomy with real influence over branch performance
* Long‐term growth opportunity within a stable, expanding business
