About CAMP Fairbridge
CAMP Fairbridge is a leading provider of outdoor education and adventure programs across Western Australia, operating from six unique locations: Pinjarra, Point Peron, Pemberton, Kalgoorlie, Geraldton, and Dampier. Each camp offers a wide range of activities based on its unique natural environment and purpose-built facilities such as climbing walls, bike trails and ropes courses.
We are seeking passionate Outdoor Leaders to join our busy team at CAMP Fairbridge. Some of the classic activities that we lead across our sites include:
* Kayaking
* Snorkelling
* Canoeing
* Raft Building
* Abseiling
* Rock Climbing

* Crate Climbing
* Mountain Biking
* Archery
* Bush Craft
* Team Building
The role is primarily based on the Leadership of Activities at Point Peron and Pinjarra, with the opportunity to lead camps at Pemberton, Geraldton, Dampier and Kalgoorlie.
The role would be well suited to candidates who have been working in the Outdoor sector for a number of years and are experienced and qualified in abseiling and paddling activities. This role also involves camp development projects, staff training, VET development and admin support, which are exciting additions to camp leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead camps and activities in line with Fairbridge WA policies and procedures
* Instruct skills and techniques used in outdoor activities
* Facilitate group experiences throughout camp in line with program aims
* Encourage strong connections with the natural environment
* Assist in the provision of first aid and emergency response procedures
* Participate in ongoing training and professional developmentWork with the activities team on a range of camp planning and administrative projects
* Assist with staff training and mentoring as directed by the Outdoor Ed Lead
* Maintain facilities and equipment in line with staff training
Criteria
* Outdoor leadership experience and relevant qualifications in abseiling, high ropes, paddling, snorkelling and cycling activities.
* Sound time management, organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good level of fitness and ability to work in physically demanding environments.
* Interest in further development of facilitation and leadership skills.
* Willingness to travel and stay overnight at regional camps when required.
* Administrative experience in word processing, emails and spreadsheets.
* Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
Qualifications
* Working With Children Check (required)
* National Police Clearance (required)
* WA Drivers Licence (required)
* Provide First Aid & CPR (required)
* Certificate III/IV Outdoor Recreation or Degree in Outdoor Education (desirable)
* Abseiling Qualifications (highly desirable)
* Activity specific qualifications (kayak, high ropes, mountain bike, snorkel, etc)
* Bronze Medallion/START/Community Surf Rescue (desirable)
* Wilderness/Remote Area First Aid (desirable)
* Skippers/Coxswain (desirable)
* Certificate IV Training & Assessment (desirable)
