About the role Mater Hospital Brisbane has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Unit Manager with strong leadership skills within a haematology oncology setting. This position will be offered as a maximum term contract 12 months, full time role of 38 hours per week and is available with an immediate start. This role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to provide and ensure the highest quality patient care, where advanced clinical skills and knowledge underpin care coordination, collaboration and communication for excellence in patient outcomes. As the leader of this team, you will provide exceptional nursing management and be responsible for the clinical, resource management, education and research accountabilities of nursing within this area. Additionally, you will ensure the provision of best practice, quality and safety aspects of patient care. Salary range: $73.56 - $79.11 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be doing As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will: Provide operational/clinical management and leadership to the nursing team and provide a professional line management responsibility to nurses in the organisation Form part of the leadership team and work closely with the multidisciplinary unit teams to ensure the delivery of a high standard of patient centered care and effective management of clinical, financial and human resources within a quality and risk management framework Achieve optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care across Mater Health Services Demonstrate advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of haematology, oncology and palliative care services Support the Assistant Director of Clinical Services, Inpatient and ED, in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision Maintain current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth About you Extensive clinical experience in haematology, oncology and palliative care Current AHPRA Nursing registration Ability to demonstrate strong capability in leading both the clinical and commercial aspects of a tertiary service High level communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills within a multidisciplinary environment Demonstrated competence in cost centre management Willingness to role model and promote the Mater values Why join us?
