Project Overview: The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village. The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, which is a small town situated on the Jeddah – Riyadh highway. A desert track connects Al Mouwayh to the Project site. Bechtel has been awarded the Ar Rjum gold project feasibility study update and related works by Ma'aden, Saudi Arabia’s state-owned mining company. The scope will include updating the existing design capacity from 6 Mtpa to 8 Mtpa and preparing for execution, which is anticipated to kick off execution in 2025. Job Summary: In this role, you will work with the project team to prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations. You will apply established unit job hour and pricing data, perform schedule integrations, prepare work logic, identify restraints and potential impacts, develop recovery plans, and evaluate subcontractor schedules for improvements. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects stay on track and on time. This is a fulltime position with possible work from home options as per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individiual and their supervisor, in consultation with function or project leadership. Major Responsibilities: Receives day to day guidance from the Project Controls Manager but will be responsible for supporting the project office and site office will all planning / scheduling resources and output deliverables. Provides inputs, guidance and recommendations for planning / scheduling requirements relative to staffing and project control. Prepares detailed staffing plans for planning / scheduling activities. Coordinate’s scheduling and planning inputs from all functions to ensure a robust and achievable schedule is prepared. Coordinate the set-up of and maintenance thereafter of the specific quantity tracking metrics to ensure weekly quantities are meeting the project schedule requirements. Ascertains that the correct scope of work is reflected on all schedules. Integrates interdisciplinary schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical work sequences for assigned disciplines or specialties. Works with Studies and Approvals team to ensure that the schedule accurately details the inputs and timelines to allow continuity of all scopes of works. Establishes and implements methods for determining activity durations provided by contractors within assigned disciplines or specialties. Ensures all reports are providing adequate over-view of contractor scheduled activities. Develops commodity release and installation curves as applicable. Reviews and evaluates contractor reporting is meeting total quantities and jobhours required across each element of the project. Assists in determining leveling decisions. Performs high level quantity, workforce, and cost resource loading for assigned schedules. Performs performance monitoring and control functions as directed by the Site Manager. Review’s schedule data and identifies and acquires the information needed to complete work logics to interface across all aspects of the project. Determines activities and identifies overall critical path (primary and secondary) together with near term critical path items. Develops and monitors short term (4 week) construction schedules; along with monthly and quarterly reporting in alignment with the project requirements. Monitors schedule deviation for all scopes of work, disciplines or specialties including subcontractor submittals, and recommends corrective action/workaround solutions for project considerations. Develops and writes the schedule commentary that appears in the monthly progress and similar reports. Coordinates and is Owner of identifying and reporting activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule and prepares and controls the Schedule Impact Report (as well as the CIAR - Critical Items Action Report). Compiles, as deemed required, construction weekly workplan for site contracts including S-curves, schedule slippage, equipment usage, resource levels, narrative and other reports as required. Conducts personnel performance reviews when delegated. Interviews candidates and makes recommendations for employment decisions. Participates in developing and presenting training classes on designated subjects and on-the- job training for specific processes and practices Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience Experience and demonstrated skill in completing and directing project planning / scheduling activities across a broad range of civil, SMP, E&I work tasks together with interfaces with approvals, operations & maintenance and owners team interfaces. Required Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency in using PC operating systems and multi discipline specific software applications (Primavera P6, Microsoft applications). Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information to management/client. Demonstrated skill in identifying, analysing, and solving problems. Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes, as performed by Bechtel. Knowledge of current industry and technical developments.
