The Role As a Senior / Lead Civil Designer, you will: Manage drafting for large-scale projects autonomously and lead junior drafters Take ownership of small and large projects where no Lead Engineer is assigned Liaise directly with engineers and architects to prepare and coordinate documentation Translate technical and structural concepts into clear, builder-friendly drawings Assist in developing preliminary designs from architectural concepts Mentor and train junior designers, providing technical support in Civil 3D and other tools Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting systems and processes Ensure smooth communication between project stakeholders About You You’ll bring: Relevant TAFE qualification or equivalent 8–10 years’ experience in a senior civil design/drafting role within Australia Proficiency in Civil 3D (preferred) or 12d for major projects, with a strong grasp of national design frameworks Solid understanding of Austroads, BCA, and Australian Standards Proven ability to coordinate utilities, interpret data, and work to design parameters Experience in documenting roads, drainage, and civil infrastructure in a digital environment Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor others and manage project documentation teams Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail Eligibility: Applicants must have full Australian working rights and relevant local project experience.
