Amazon Operations Australia is experiencing significant growth, and this new role will play a key part in supporting the expansion of our delivery services network. You will join our high-performing Delivery Services Finance team where you'll build and standardise a world-class reporting suite that powers decision-making across our entire delivery network. This role offers unique end‐to‐end visibility across multiple business units including Inbound Freight and imports, Middle mile ATS, Sort Centre, Delivery Stations, 3P Transportation, Amazon Flex, and Delivery Service Partners. Your analytics and reporting expertise will drive critical decision‐making for our Operations Leadership Team, FP&A and Ops Finance as a whole. This position places you at the intersection of finance and technology, where you'll be at the forefront of implementing Business Intelligence and AI solutions within our finance team. Your work standardising KPI reports and developing financial bridges will directly impact business performance across the delivery network, giving you unparalleled exposure to learn about Amazon's delivery operations in their entirety rather than just one segment.
Key job responsibilities
* Generate, analyze and distribute standard KPI reports, productivity narratives, and financial bridges that provide actionable insights for leadership decision‐making across Delivery Services.
* Collaborate with Business Intelligence teams to develop and implement automation, standardisation, and centralisation of financial reporting systems and processes.
* Proactively identify financial trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement by analysing data across the full delivery services network.
* Partner with Operations Leadership Teams to ensure reporting accuracy, diving deep into data discrepancies and implementing solutions that maintain the highest standards.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for reporting tools, standard operating procedures, and process workflows to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration across teams.
A day in the life
Your day begins by generating standard KPI reports that track performance metrics across the delivery network. You'll create productivity narratives that explain financial results and develop bridges that connect financial outcomes to operational activities. You'll collaborate with BI specialists to enhance report automation and centralisation while incorporating Business Intelligence tools into standard workflows. Throughout the day, you'll analyse data to identify trends, investigate anomalies, and deliver actionable insights that drive continuous improvement across all delivery service operations.
About The Team
Our finance team consists of 11 professionals working across two cities, supporting all aspects of Amazon's delivery services network. We're a collaborative group that values diverse perspectives and innovative thinking. The team works across multiple business units including Inbound Freight, Middle Mile, Sort Centers, Delivery Stations and last mile operations, giving members broad exposure to Amazon's logistics operations. We're creating an inclusive environment where team members can develop comprehensive knowledge of the end‐to‐end delivery process rather than specialising in just one area. This approach fosters rapid learning and positions our team at the forefront of implementing BI and AI capabilities within finance operations.
Basic Qualifications
* 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
* 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience.
* 3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience.
* 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardise or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience.
* Experience with the use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence.
Preferred Qualifications
* 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience.
* MBA, or CPA.
* Knowledge of Tableau.
* Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
