We are seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Events and Activations Manager to provide strategic leadership and oversight of all functions, events, and bar operations across the HOTA precinct.
About the Role
This is a senior leadership role responsible for the planning, commercial performance, and strategic direction of Culinary Arts across HOTA's vibrant program of events, festivals, and experiences.
Working across a diverse calendar of programming, you will ensure food and beverage is integrated early, delivered seamlessly, and optimised for both guest experience and commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all functions, events, and bar operations across the HOTA precinct and Experience Gold Coast events.
Drive the alignment of food and beverage activations with HOTA and Experience Gold Coast programming, ensuring a seamless integration that enhances guest experience and delivers commercial outcomes.
Lead the integration of Culinary Arts into forward programming, ensuring food and beverage strategy is embedded early to maximise revenue and enhance guest experience.
Drive commercial outcomes across events and bar operations, including revenue growth, cost control, and profitability.
Provide leadership, direction, and performance oversight to the Functions & Events Services Manager and broader event and bar teams.
Set clear expectations, accountabilities, and performance outcomes, ensuring alignment to Culinary Arts and precinct-wide objectives.
Establish operational frameworks, standards, and resourcing models to support effective event delivery.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to plan and deliver food and beverage across programmed events and exhibitions.
Work closely with the Sales & Events team to support the development and delivery of internal and external functions.
Lead the development of menus, packages, and offerings aligned to HOTA and Experience Gold Coast programming.
Provide financial forecasting and reporting to support programming decisions and business case development.
The Ideal Candidate
You bring a balance of big-picture thinking and operational understanding, enabling you to shape direction while ensuring high-quality execution across events, bars, and activations.
Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to drive revenue, manage costs, and influence financial performance.
Experience working within large-scale events, festivals, or programmed environments.
Proven experience aligning food and beverage offerings and activations with programmed events to enhance guest experience and commercial outcomes.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational demands.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
A visible, hands‐on leadership style, with the confidence to step in and support delivery when required.
