About The Role:
Carrapateena is a large-scale, world-class mine operated by world-class people. We are seeking a self-driven, enthusiastic production metallurgist to join our team and help deliver exceptional results. Our copper concentrator has an expanding portfolio of projects and optimization opportunities. The role is based in Carrapateena, South Australia, with an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, in the Ore Processing department, reporting to the Senior Metallurgist - Plant. It is a permanent, full-time position.
In This Role You Will:
1. Provide technical input for the efficient operation of the processing plant, analyzing variances and losses.
2. Contribute to a safety-focused culture through open communication, hazard reporting, and process safety improvements.
3. Develop strong working relationships with metallurgical, operational, and maintenance teams.
4. Support operational teams with technical expertise to meet production plans.
5. Implement operational improvement projects to enhance safety, throughput, recovery, quality, and costs.
6. Investigate plant performance issues and coordinate improvement actions.
7. Assist technicians with operation, calibration, and maintenance of online equipment as needed.
About You:
1. Qualifications in Metallurgical, Process, or Chemical Engineering.
2. Experience in minerals processing at a project or plant level.
3. Experience with base metal concentrators, SAG milling, and sulphide flotation is desirable.
4. Ability to conduct and interpret metallurgical testing, surveys, and trials.
5. Proven capability to deliver process improvements and modifications.
6. Experience working with external stakeholders to optimize plant equipment and trials.
