The Department of the Premier and Cabinet supports the Premier as head of the Western Australian Government. It is a central agency that leads the public sector in providing advice and support to the Premier and Cabinet in their service of the Western Australian Community. About the Role
This position is responsible for coordinating activities and supporting the delivery of initiatives in Workplace Health and Safety (WHS). The role ensures that WHS initiatives, audit actions, documentation, data and key performance indicators are effectively implemented and monitored, and coordinates the promotion and education of WHS. The role acts as the administrative support to the WHS committee and supports groups such as the Contact Officers, First Aid Officers and WHS Representatives, and will also support project work across the broader Organisational Development team, as required.
Selection Criteria
* Sound applied knowledge of WHS and Workers' Compensation and Injury Management legislation, regulation and codes.
* Experience in the delivery of WHS services and commitment to safety.
* Good verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise and negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders and clients including senior management.
* Good organisational skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment with the capacity to manage a diverse workload and meet competing deadlines.

Fixed Term Appointment
* To be eligible for fixed term appointment you must have a current visa that allows you to work for the required term and hours of the contract.
