About the Job
There is an exciting opportunity with the Sustainability and Resource Recovery team for a Sustainability and Resource Recovery Educator. This role promotes recycling and other waste management practices with lead to reduced waste to landfill outcomes within the Shire.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Educating the general public, including school children by providing information and presentations about waste minimisation and recycling.
* Assist in investigating, implementing and maintaining additional recycling and waste management opportunities.
* Assist local business and community groups to establish and maintain in-house recycling practices.
This is a 12-month fixed-term parental leave cover position. The role is part-time, working 20 hours per week.
About you
In order to succeed and thrive in this position, you must have:
* Knowledge of waste management minimisation principles and practices focusing on waste reduction, recycling and sustainability.
* Skills in design, delivery and evaluation of community educational resources and promotional material for digital and print media and communications.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal departments, external agencies, local businesses, educational institutions, community partners, residents and visitors.

Salary : $35.77-$37.24 per hour, depending on relevant experience and qualifications
