About the role
The Payroll Officer is responsible for end to end payroll and payroll analysis and reporting. This role reports to the Payroll Manager in the finance team.
Responsibilities
* Manage all aspects of an end-to-end weekly payroll
* Supporting and responding promptly to payroll queries
* Preparing payroll reports as required for internal and external reporting
* Supporting any audit and compliance activities
* Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll related to data, respecting appropriate confidentiality.
* Prioritise and manage your work to meet deadlines
* Follow up queries and escalate any difficult, complex or non-compliant matters outside of policy to the Payroll Manager
* Provide assistance with FBT process
* Prepare payroll tax returns
* Ensure superannuation compliance
* Prepare payroll related balance sheet reconciliations
* Work with management accountants to prepare payroll budgets and forecasts
* Contribute payroll knowledge and capability to assist in maintaining and developing payroll systems, processes and procedures, including recommending and implementing improvements initiatives.
* Interpret and apply modern awards and ensure any changes are identified and understood
* Communicate with various stakeholders within the organisation
To be successful in this role you will need
* A minimum of 3 years payroll experience within a medium to large organisation.
* Experience using payroll systems
* Sound knowledge of applicable legislation
* Experience with award interpretation within Agricultural industry
* High attention to detail and an urgency to meet deadlines
* A proactive attitude and an ability to pick up processes quickly.
* Ability to confidently work in both autonomous & team-based settings
* Intermediate to advanced Excel skills/knowledge

What You Should Know About Our Operations
Our business is widespread, growing walnuts, almonds and bees in the Riverina Region in New South Wales, pecans in Moree and macadamias, avocados and mangoes in Bundaberg, Queensland.
Off the paddock, we operate nut processing and packing facilities in Leeton, Toowoomba and Bundaberg as well as fruit packing and processing in Bundaberg. In addition, our shared services teams (Finance, Sales, ESG, Safety and People & Culture) are located across all of our sites as well as the Brisbane, Melbourne and Griffith offices.
