Permanent Role
Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per annum.

Position
We have a full‐time position available for an Outdoor Adventure Guide in Cairns, QLD 4870.
Skills / Requirements
* Hold at least a relevant AQF CertIII.
* Have at least 1 year of relevant work experience, or at least 3 years of relevant employment experience.
Responsibilities
* Provide engaging tours above water on the Great Barrier Reef.
* Greet guests, introduce the crew, and foster a friendly, professional atmosphere while leading and supervising guided snorkelling groups.
* Prepare, fit, and maintain snorkelling equipment, ensuring all gear is safe and functional.
* Deliver clear instruction to build participant confidence in water.
* Conduct thorough safety and environmental briefings, monitor conditions, and remain vigilant to minimise risks.
* Respond to emergencies and administer first aid if required.
* Enhance guest experience by sharing knowledge of reef and marine life, answering questions, and completing daily logs, incident reports, and other administrative tasks in line with workplace health and safety policies.
Duties
* Welcome guests upon arrival to the tour, introduce yourself and crew, and create a friendly, professional atmosphere for the snorkelling experience.
* Organise and lead guided snorkelling groups, ensuring participants are briefed, grouped appropriately, and supervised throughout the tour.
* Prepare, set up, and maintain snorkelling equipment, conducting safety checks to ensure all gear is clean, functional and suitable for use.
* Demonstrate correct snorkelling techniques and provide transparent, practical instruction to help participants feel confident and capable in the water.
* Assist guests with fitting and using snorkeling equipment including masks, snorkels, fins and flotation devices.
* Deliver thorough safety briefings, outline environmental considerations and monitor conditions to ensure all activities minimise risk to guests and marine life.
* Remain vigilant during tours, quickly identifying and responding to any issues or emergencies, including administering first aid and coordinating further assistance if needed.
* Share knowledge about the Great Barrier Reef, including marine life, conservation practices, and notable points of interest, while answering guest questions.
* Complete daily logs, incident reports, and other administrative tasks to support smooth tour operations and compliance requirements.
* Maintain and adhere to workplace health and safety policies.

Salary
The salary offered will be $65,000 – $75,000 per annum, negotiated based on your experience.
