Land Management Specialist
We are seeking a skilled and community-minded Land Management Specialist to join our team at the Murray Bridge Training Area in South Australia.
This role involves more than just land management; it's about working together to keep our training areas safe, well-maintained, and ready for use by the Defence Forces. You'll be supported to learn and grow in the role with opportunities to complete relevant training and certifications to progress in your career.
* Caring for and managing the land, including grass cutting, tree removal, weed control and pest management.
* Supporting emergency response activities, including firefighting when needed.
* Operating and maintaining portable target systems.
* Working closely with others to ensure the range is safe, secure, and operational.
Requirements
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and women to apply. Ideally, you'll bring some of the following skills:
* Light vehicle licence (HR Truck licence, Backhoe or Plant Operator licence would be great but not essential).
* Bush firefighting qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
* Map reading and navigation skills (we can train you if you're new to this).
* Senior First Aid certificate (or ability to gain one).
* Clear communication skills and basic computer skills (MS Office).
