David Brown Santasalo Australia is seeking a strategic and technically accomplished Head of Engineering to lead our national engineering function across service, projects, reverse engineering, and new product solutions. This executive leadership role is responsible for driving engineering excellence, strengthening technical capability, and supporting the continued growth of DBS Australia across key mining, industrial, and energy sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide national leadership to the engineering team across multiple Australian sites
* Drive engineering strategy aligned with business growth, operational performance, and customer outcomes
* Lead complex gearbox design, reverse engineering, upgrades, and technical innovation initiatives
* Ensure engineering governance, quality standards, and compliance with ISO and internal technical frameworks
* Partner with Sales, Operations, and Service teams to deliver high-value engineered solutions
* Mentor and develop engineering talent, building capability succession across the organisation
* Support major tenders, strategic customer engagements, and technical risk management
About You
* Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Extensive leadership experience in heavy industrial, mining, rotating equipment, or power transmission environments
* Strong experience in gearbox engineering, reverse engineering, and mechanical system design
* Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams across geographically dispersed locations
* Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting large tenders and technical sales
* Demonstrated capability in driving engineering standards, continuous improvement, and innovation
