Market Risk Senior Group Manager
Citi's organization oversees risk-taking activities and assesses risks independently of the front line units. The enterprise risk management framework is established and maintained to consistently identify, measure, monitor, control and report material aggregate risks.
The Market Risk Senior Group Manager manages multiple teams through other managers. Understanding how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function is necessary to contribute to commercial objectives.
* Executes functional strategy in area managed.
* Determines approach to implementing functional strategy.
* Accountable for end results, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s).
The role requires understanding of strategic direction within relevant business part, combined with a solid grounding in the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas.
Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally, often at senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary.
Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.
Measures, monitors and analyzes market risk exposure on a day-to-day and long-term basis for various financial products.
Monitors trading limits and approves transactions over established limits. Works with traders or trading management and recommends actions to mitigate risk.
Solves problems to mitigate risks of those products.
