Electrical Industry Scholarships and Career Development

We are committed to creating opportunities for First Peoples in the electrical industry through trade and professional career pathways. Recognizing the financial barriers to undertaking study, we offer scholarships to support individuals pursuing a Pre-Apprenticeship Cert II in Electrotechnology.

The scholarship aims to assist students with costs associated with studying, such as tools, clothing, rent, childcare, or income supplementation. It is valued at up to $2,000 and runs across various regions, including Bunurong, Wurundjeri, Dja Dja Wurrung, Yorta Yorta, Wadawurrung, Gunditjmara, and Eastern Maar countries.

Students in the program will be provided PPE for their studies. We encourage women, non-binary, and gender-diverse individuals to explore opportunities in electrical engineering.


Scholarship Details

This three-year scholarship includes:

* $5,000 – $10,000 in annual financial assistance
* 12 weeks of paid work experience in the penultimate year
* A personal mentor throughout the program
* Automatic consideration for our graduate engineering assessment day


Eligibility

Applications are invited from students at:

* University of Melbourne: Bachelor of Science, specializing in Electrical Systems, with an intent to pursue a Master of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
* RMIT University: Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, specializing in Power Engineering

Our scholarship supports women, non-binary, and gender-diverse individuals undertaking a Pre-Apprenticeship Cert II in Electrotechnology. Established in 2017, it aims to increase the number of women in trades by supporting those motivated to enter the electrical industry.

The scholarship is awarded based on commitment and motivation to succeed in the electrical industry. Funds can be used for fees, tools, PPE, clothing, rent, childcare, or income supplementation during studies.

Recipients are not obligated to apply for roles with our company but are considered for our apprenticeship program when it opens. Applications are reviewed three times annually.


Vacation Program

This program is designed for students entering their final undergraduate year in electrical or mechatronics engineering. It offers paid work experience over 12 weeks, providing insight into our operations and exposure to real projects.

Participants work with skilled professionals, solving problems and delivering outcomes, with full mentorship support. Participation also includes automatic consideration for our graduate program.
