Youth Mental Health Worker (Social Worker/Psychologist/ Counsellor)

Employment type: Permanent Part Time/Temporary Part Time until 27 June 2026

Remuneration: $74, $108,943.00 per annum, pro rata (+ super +17.5% leave loading where applicable)

Location: Young Community Mental Health

The Young Community Mental Health Team are seeking to fill the below:

* Permanent Part Time – 20 Hours Per Week
* Part Time Temporary – 20 Hours Per Week until 27 June 2026

What you'll be doing

You will provide evidence-based mental health assessment, intervention and assertive case management to young people aged 14–25 with complex or emerging mental health needs. Working in partnership with families, primary care providers and community agencies, you will support early intervention, improve access to care, and help young people achieve meaningful recovery outcomes.

This is a dynamic role where you'll combine clinical expertise with strong communication and liaison skills to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable people across the Murrumbidgee Local Health District.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

* Relevant tertiary qualification in mental health (e.g. Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Social Worker, Counsellor or related discipline) and eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional body.
* Demonstrated experience in assessing and supporting young people with complex or emerging mental health needs.
* Ability to deliver evidence-based interventions and work collaboratively with families, carers and partner agencies.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage hard-to-reach young people
* Current NSW Working With Children Check, National Police Check and Class C driver's licence
