About the role
The Heritage Advisor – Historical Archaeology is responsible for carrying out commercial consultancy projects, requiring skills in project management as well as key technical experience
Essential skills and experience
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate their ability to meet the following criteria:
•An archaeology degree with honours or equivalent, with a focus on Australian archaeology
•Demonstrated knowledge of historical archaeological and/or Aboriginal archaeological sites and cultural heritage management in Australia, and/or
•Demonstrated knowledge of built heritage management and cultural heritage management in Australia, and/or
•Demonstrated experience in execution of archaeological surveys and excavations, site identification, recording, assessment, and Aboriginal community consultation, and/or
•Demonstrated experience in site inspections, recording, research, and impact assessment, and/or
•Demonstrated experience in conservation and/or interpretation.
•Knowledge of relevant legislation
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Demonstrated ability to prepare assessment and management reports to a high professional standard.
•Driver’s licence, Construction Industry Safety Induction (White Card)
Desirable Criteria
The following criteria will be considered favourably:
•Demonstrated consulting experience
•First Aid Certificate
•Experience working in a commercial environment
