The Market and Competitive Insights Senior Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring EY maintains a competitive edge by providing deep insights into market dynamics and competitive challenges. The position is responsible for developing impactful analyses that inform strategic decisions and drive growth. Recognized as a key contributor by senior EY leadership, the Associate Director acts as a trusted advisor on market trends, competitive positioning, and emerging opportunities, enhancing EY's capability to navigate the competitive landscape and respond effectively to client needs, aligning with the firm's strategic objectives.
As a member of the Insights pillar, all Insights team members will work agilely with up to 25% of their time assigned to activities outside of their primary team, whether Market and Competitive Intelligence, Thematic Insights, Sector Insights or Insights Excellence.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Provide deep insight and understanding of the market and competitive landscape.
* Engage and challenge senior domain stakeholders with commercial and provocative perspectives, preparing insightful analysis on trends impacting EY and its clients.
* Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
* Utilize AI tools and technologies to enhance data analysis and insights generation.
* Develop engaging narratives and presentations that effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
* Demonstrate agility in adapting to changing market conditions and internal client needs.
* Work efficiently under tight deadlines, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
* Exhibit executive presence in interactions with senior leadership and clients.
* Perform quantitative analysis to support strategic recommendations.
* Create visually appealing data visualizations to present insights clearly and effectively.
* Solve complex problems through innovative thinking and a proactive approach.
* Develop insights beyond publicly available information, leveraging EY's proprietary knowledge and interacting with colleagues, clients, and external networks.

Supervision Responsibilities
* Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects, working across service lines and geographies.
* Review work of junior analysts and research partners.
* May serve as counsellor or manager for other analysts.

* Demonstrated agility and speed in delivering high‑quality insights under pressure, identifying the "so what" not just the "what."
* Primary research, interview, and elicitation skills.
* Understanding of competitive intelligence methods and frameworks.
* Demonstrated proficiency in AI applications and data analysis tools, with a keen interest in exploring new technologies.
* Exceptional storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to engage audiences.
* Strong communication skills including the ability to write with clarity, concision, and precision.
* Outstanding executive‑level presentation skills and ability to interface with senior EY leadership.

Job Requirements
* Education
o University/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
o Master's degree or postgraduate qualification a advantage.
* Experience
o Proven experience in market research, competitive analysis, or a related field; e.g., 10‑12 years in strategy, business analysis, consulting, industry research, management consulting, or business performance.
Other Requirements
* Occasional travel, both domestic and international.
* Proficient in English, both written and verbal.

What We Offer You
* Comprehensive compensation and benefits package rewarding performance and recognition. Salary ranges for the US: $126,800‑$244,000 (all geographies) with higher ranges for NYC, Washington, California. Total Rewards include medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, paid time off, etc.
* Hybrid model: teams work in person 40–60% of time.
