About the role
Join Jean A Jones' as an Accountant based in Mooroolbark Vic. This full-time role will see you providing strategic financial and taxation advisory support to the firm and its diverse client base.
What you'll be doing
* Prepare and lodge accurate and compliant tax returns for individual and business clients
* Provide expert advice on taxation matters, including income tax, GST, fringe benefits tax and other tax-related obligations
* Assist with financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting to help clients make informed business decisions
* Identify tax planning opportunities and implement strategies to minimise clients' tax liabilities
* Collaborate with the broader accounting team to deliver high-quality, commercially-focused advisory services
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their unique circumstances and requirements
What we're looking for
* Degree or postgraduate qualification in Accounting or Commerce, with a focus on taxation
* CPA or CA qualification, or working towards completion
* Minimum 5 years' experience in public practice or a commercial accounting role, with a strong focus on taxation
* Excellent tax technical knowledge and the ability to apply it in a practical, commercial context
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders
* Proven ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment
* Australian work authorisation is required at the time of application
