Microsoft Synapse Data Engineer
We are looking for a highly skilled Microsoft Synapse Data Engineer to join our Sydney team and design and deliver next-generation Azure data platforms at enterprise scale.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex cloud transformation programs, building modern data architectures that power analytics, reporting, machine learning, and AI initiatives across large-scale environments.
What You'll Be Doing
* Design, build, and optimise enterprise-grade Azure data platforms using Microsoft cloud technologies
* Develop scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Python, Spark, and SQL
* Deliver modern cloud-native data warehousing and big data solutions across complex enterprise environments
* Work closely with architects, analysts, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality data outcomes
* Implement dimensional modelling approaches including Star and Snowflake schemas
* Support data integration, transformation, governance, and performance optimisation initiatives
* Contribute to best practices across data engineering, automation, scalability, and platform reliability
What We're Looking For
* 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Big Data, or Analytics Engineering
* Strong hands-on expertise with Python, Spark, and SQL
* Experience building end-to-end modern Azure data platforms
* Strong understanding of scalable analytics architecture and enterprise data pipelines
* Solid experience with dimensional modelling and modern data warehousing concepts
* Excellent stakeholder communication and consulting capability
* Experience working within large enterprise or regulated environments is highly regarded
