Research Fellow – Integrable Probability

Overview
The University of Melbourne is seeking a Research Fellow to conduct high standard research within the School of Mathematics and Statistics as part of an ARC Discovery Project in integrable probability. The role focuses on solvable lattice models for stochastic processes and includes supervision and mentorship of research students.
Salary and Terms
* Level A: AUD $87,266 – $118,416 per annum (PhD entry level $110,319)
* Level B: AUD $124,656 – $148,023 per annum plus 17% superannuation
Responsibilities
* Engage in research to meet ARC Discovery Project objectives and advance knowledge in solvable lattice models and stochastic systems.
* Publish in high standard discipline journals, present at seminars and conferences, and contribute to research grant submissions.
* Supervise and mentor postgraduate students, contributing to their academic growth and development.
* Engage in School initiatives and promote critical enquiry within the community.
Qualifications
* PhD in mathematics or a related field.
* Expertise in solvable lattice models and stochastic processes.
* Experience in supervising undergraduate or higher degree research projects (desirable).
* Aptitude to learn and apply new mathematics to problem solving.
* Experience attracting external funding through grant applications and supporting joint projects (desirable).
* Experience relevant to research in integrable probability (desirable).
