Job Summary
Crown Counsel is a high-level position within the government, responsible for providing strategic policy advice to senior officials and representing the organization on various committees and working groups.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of law reform, review, and development of legislation, policies, and procedures, as well as experience in drafting written submissions to government agencies and courts.
They will also be required to manage the organization's response to recommendations arising from external bodies, liaison with stakeholders, and provide expert legal advice to senior officials and other agencies.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide high-level policy advice to senior officials on law reform, review, and development of legislation, policies, and procedures
* Draft written submissions to government agencies, courts, and other agencies
* Manage the organization's response to recommendations arising from external bodies
* Liaise with stakeholders and represent the organization on various committees and working groups
* Provide expert legal advice to senior officials and other agencies
Requirements
* Admitted or eligible for admission as a Barrister or Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania
* A minimum of seven years relevant experience desirable
