Occupational Therapist Position
Brighter Futures New Graduate Program – structured support for your first 2 years enables new graduates to reach their full potential in a rural setting. The program includes weekly supervision, mentoring and tailored clinical learning, allowing therapists to develop professionally while making a meaningful impact.
The position is ideal for those who are passionate about working with children and families in regional communities, and who are committed to ongoing learning and reflective practice. The role involves delivering therapy and supports for children fostering a holistic approach to their growth, development and overall wellbeing.
The team provides a multidisciplinary, child-focused and family-centred approach to help children reach their full potential no matter where they live. The organisation has over 90 years' experience dedicated to providing free, short-term early intervention therapy services to children aged 0 -13 and their families in rural and remote Queensland.
The Occupational Therapist will be supported through regular line management and professional coaching, informal near-peer mentoring, clinical shadowing and observation opportunities, monthly learning modules focused on key clinical competencies, group supervision, clinical tutorials, and reflection sessions.
The position also offers access to an organisational vehicle suitable for regional conditions, wellbeing resources, professional networks, and support for ethical, confident practice in rural settings.
* Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services to children and families in a rural setting
* Participate in the Brighter Futures New Graduate Program to develop clinically and professionally
* Contribute to the development of the team's skills and knowledge
* Engage with local communities and promote the organisation's services
Key Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy
* AHPRA registration (or eligibility)
* Passion for working with children and families in regional communities
* Commitment to ongoing learning and reflective practice
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Current C Class driver's licence
* Blue Card (Paid) and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willing to obtain
* Proof of Hepatitis B Vaccination
