Underground Mining Operations Engineer
Evolution Mining seeks a proactive and technically skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our Mungari team. This role is essential to ensuring safe, efficient, and productive underground operations through expert geotechnical support and design.
As an Underground Mining Operations Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting underground mining activities through expert geotechnical analysis, design, and risk management. You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining practices.
* Providing geotechnical input into mine design, scheduling, and ground support systems.
* Conducting geotechnical mapping, core logging, and numerical modeling to assess ground conditions and performance.
* Monitoring seismic activity and supporting the use of IMS seismic systems and data analysis.
* Investigating geotechnical incidents and recommending improvements to ground control strategies.
* Collaborating with geologists, engineers, and operations teams to manage shared geotechnical risks and optimise resource recovery.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, update ground control management plans, and deliver ground awareness training across site personnel.

Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in Mining, Geoscience, or Civil Engineering with a major in Geomechanics (or equivalent).
* Minimum of 3 years' geotechnical experience in underground mining, with exposure to operations, technical services, or project management.
* Proficient in geotechnical software (Map3D, Phase2, Dips, Unwedge), seismic systems (IMS Suite), and CAD/modelling tools (Leapfrog, Deswik), with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
You're a self-starter who thrives in a team environment, capable of delivering sound geotechnical designs, conducting risk assessments, and supporting ground control systems.
